Olympicsail 2003 - NZ`s Olympicsail serves to provide junior and youth sailors to observe Olympic classes |
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND-(20-2-2003) Yachting New Zealand appreciates the assistance of Torbay Sailing Club in running Olympicsail 2003. Not only a selection regatta for overseas events, Olympicsail serves to provide junior and youth sailors with a two day regatta to observe the olympic classes and their sailors in operation. It therefore fulfills an important part of their yachting development and we encourage all young sailors to participate.
Held in Taupo in recent years, the move to Auckland this year will give a different group of sailors a chance to meet our future Olympians.
The Notice of Race is available and has some minor changes to the preliminary Notice of Race such as an extended close off date for entries.
A prizegiving dinner and announcement of those selected to attend overseas regattas is planned for the Olympic classes at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron on Sunday evening. Prizegiving for junior and youth classes will be held at Torbay as soon after racing finishes as possible.
